A new study co-authored by Alex Wiebe, a doctoral student at Princton’s Ecology and Evolutionary Biology department and Dr. David Wilcove, Professor of Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and Public Affairs reveals the relationship between the resource consumption of high-income nations and international biodiversity loss. This research examines how the distribution of resources such as lumber and agriculture to developed nations shifts numerous environmental costs onto other countries. In an increasingly connected world, this study outlines the environmental consequences and impact trade has on habitats and critically endangered species.
