Bree Rosenblum is a Professor of Global Change Biology and the Koshland Distinguished Chair for Innovative Teaching and Research at UC Berkeley. Her research focuses on the dynamics of speciation and extinction on our rapidly changing planet. Increasingly, her work within and beyond the University explores how to evolve our worldview as humans (and scientists) to better meet the challenges of our times and better honor the biodiversity of our planet. In this talk, Bree will share recent insights from her two longest standing research projects focused on a) ecological speciation in lizards at White Sands and b) disease-related declines of frogs around the world. She will also offer a perspective about how we can prioritize our own evolution as individuals, scientists, and global citizens to meet this period of dynamic change.
